    Pseudoemiliania ovata (Bukry, 1973) Young 1998

    Description: Coccoliths similar to P. lacunosa but elliptical and with <12 slits in the distal shield.

    Remarks: See Young (1990) for extended discussion of the relationship between lacunosa and ovata.

    Range: NN14 to 19 (very abundant in Late Pliocene).
